Five Foods That Can Increase Men's Sexual Health

Men's sexual health is not only the absence of disease, it is an optimal condition that includes libido, or sexual desire, and the ability to obtain and sustain an erection. Optimal sexual health is the result of several psychological, physical, and sociological factors. There are some foods that can help a man keep and increase his sexual health.

Spinach

Spinach and other green vegetables help dilate blood vessels by introducing magnesium. Magnesium allows a better blood circulation to the genitals, which creates a better erection. Besides spinach, other green vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, and cabbage contain an important nutrient for sex life: folate.

Nuts and Seeds

Seeds such as pumpkin, cashews, and almonds contain arginine, which also stimulates blood flow. Cashews and almonds are particularly rich in zinc. Zinc is thought to help increase the female sex drive. A study from Wayne State University revealed that young men who restricted their intake of zinc decreased their testosterone levels in 20 weeks, which reduced their libido. 

Salmon

Salmon is very well-known for its Omega-3 content which is known to help blood circulation by preventing the buildup of plaque in your arteries. If you are prone to develop prostate cancer, you might want to limit eating fish to once a week. 

Eggs

Eggs are rich in vitamins B5 and B6, which help balance hormone levels, reduce stress, and help increase libido. There are more biological usable proteins in eggs than in any other food.  

Meat and Wine

We included two here but that is basically because the only way to enjoy a good steak is with a glass of wine. Researchers have found that wine can trigger the production of nitric oxide, which helps blood flow to the genitals. Red meat is a great source of zinc.
